Position:              IFA Administrator/Paraplanner
Location:             Bristol or Bath (5 min walk from Bristol Parkway train station, 10 min drive from M4 J19 & M5 J17)
Type:                     Part time (can fit around school hours)
Salary:                  Competitive (depending on experience)

About Us
 
We are a directly authorised, family run IFA firm based just north of Bristol, currently two advisers. We are looking for an experienced, financial services Administrator or Paraplanner to join our growing firm. As well as a strong understanding of the financial planning process and some completed financial services exams, we are looking for someone who will operate with honesty and integrity as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Requirements

·         Four years relevant experience in a financial advisory firm or similar
·         Experience in client report writing
·         Excellent communication skills
·         Organised with excellent attention to detail
·         Past some CII exams or equivalent (advantageous)
 
​Key Responsibilities


Administration


  1. Filing
  2. Photocopying & Scanning
  3. Answering phones
  4. Liaising with institutions on basic issues such as requesting forms, asking for valuations or confirming policy details.
 
Paraplanning
 
  1. Be able to complete product and fund research, getting a set list of information from providers, platforms and fund managers.
  2. Client information gathering, gathering specific information regarding clients’ affairs from providers over the phone and in writing.
  3. Preparing client annual reviews and performance information including drafting review letters using templates but with bespoke additions when required.
  4. Preparation of all quotes and illustrations from Platforms and Institutions.
  5. Use knowledge to help the company & advisers operate compliantly in regards to both record keeping and content of client recommendation letters. Spotting gaps and suggesting improvements where needed.
  6. Attend client meetings when required, taking notes of circumstances, complete fact find documents with clients, question & verify their information with regard to specific circumstances, spot & query any gaps.
  7. Answering factual questions on taxes or legislation or rules as knowledge permits.
  8. Drafting of more complicated advice letters with a high level of accuracy and with the adviser developing solutions and strategies to meet specific client needs.
